Joseph E. Ferrer,
President and Producer for
Sunset Entertainment Group,
has a long history of producing
shows in a diverse arena of
world-class stages.  He promotes
dreams and makes them come true, whether it be concerts that entertain
and enrich, or concepts that inspire
and share the course of events. As
General Manager and Executive Vice President for the Palm Beach Pops
for three seasons and President
and CEO of the Boca Pops (1992-94),
Mr. Ferrer developed season lineups.
In each case, he more than doubled
the seasons’ subscription sales.
During that time, he developed
audience relationships and frequent sellouts from the Kravis Center in
West Palm Beach to Bailey Concert
Hall in Davie, Florida.

When Florida Atlantic University
of Boca Raton, decided to launch
their first self-produced entertainment
series in 1997, officials turned to
Mr. Ferrer and Sunset Entertainment Group to make it happen.  Applying
his seasoned expertise to all aspects
of the concert experience, Mr. Ferrer secured the talent, negotiated the contracts, oversaw technical matters
and executed a comprehensive advertising and marketing campaign
that has expanded over the years.
That first season consisted of
simply five headliners concerts
at FAU University Center Auditorium
 in Boca Raton, Florida, beginning
with Tommy Tune and
The Manhattan Rhythm Kings
.

In 1999, Mr. Ferrer and
America’s favorite POPS
Conductor, Richard Hayman,
launched the not-for-profit Florida Sunshine POPS Orchestra.  The orchestra, in its premier season,
played to sold-out audiences at
FAU and continues to sell out
each season, now broadening its performance to 4 different venues.

In December 2001, Mr. Ferrer
introduced the Legends of
Comedy series (later to be known
as Legends of Laughter and
now as Comedy Legends) to
sell-out audiences.

In 2002, Mr. Ferrer brought the
first full-scale Opera production,
Aida, as well as the acclaimed
Miami City Ballet, to the FAU
University Center Auditorium,
both being welcomed with
overwhelming enthusiasm.

In 2003, he introduced world-class,
full production International Ballet
to the FAU stage with Swan Lake
from the Moscow Ballet and Ballet Gran Folklorico de Mexico, direct
from Mexico City. Also introduced
was the Legends of 88 Keys,
an exciting series consisting of
4 legendary piano players.
Last season saw the debut of the Florida Classical Orchestra series, a series that included 3 fabulous performances by this orchestra of record for Miami City Ballet,
Florida Grand Opera and Ballet Etudes Miami. Don't miss this season's spectacular performances!

The 2006-2007 season
brings us into the tenth year for
Sunset Entertainment Group ...

A season that includes,
Florida Classical Orchestra
featuring 3 symphony performances
at 2 different venues!
5 Headliners performances at
2 different venues,
5 Florida Sunshine POPS Orchestra performances at 3 different venues, with 2 dates at one of the venues,
3 Comedy Legends Comedy
Shows at 2 venues,
3 full production Gold Coast Operas
at 5 different venues and
2 International Ballet performances
at 2 different venues-
for a grand total of
55 performances for this
fabulous season!

And to think....it all started with
that first show, Tommy Tune and
the Manhattan Rhythm Kings!!!

A native of East Chicago,
Indiana, Mr. Ferrer completed
undergraduate studies in
History and has a master’s
degree in Public Affairs
from Indiana University. He and
his wife Marjorie, reside on a
two-acre, restored 1920’s estate in
the Swinton Avenue Historical
District of Delray Beach, Florida.
